While as an American-born jew I am deeply, mortifyingly ashamed of Israel from its founding to the present (because my being jewish seems to associate me with israel whether I like it or not), I refuse to push for changes in American policy towards Israel aside from non-interference.
Just like me, you are probably neither Israeli nor Palestinian and therefore lack any basic, little to say nuanced, understanding of daily issues facing either set of people.
Like the typical American that you are, however, you wrongly believe it is your right to force your rightly uninformed, completely non-constructive political views to the forefront. Where does that right come from?
I am absolutely disgusted, sick, tired, and ridiculously ashamed that such a large group of otherwise intelligent Americans believe that they have some moral currency in this conflict. Please shut the fuck up. Please stop getting in the way of legitimate dialogue, and finally, please stop embarassing yourselves.
America is fucked. Why do you persist on focusing on outside problems when we need all your energy right here?
America is the only country that we can ever know and hope to understand on any level other than complete cultural stupidity.
Get your minds and morals the fuck out of places that don't need your useless, idiotic support and put your energy in a place that you can actually help -- your own fucking backyard.
