Behavioral Health Specialist - Project ACE/Aspire

As part of NADAP's Case Management Programs in downtown Brooklyn, the Behavioral Health Specialist (BHS) will complete a mental health, chemical dependency, and vocational readiness assessment during the client intake process. The BHS will collaborate with the assessment team regarding assessment outcomes, level of care determinations, and appropriate referrals to treatment programs. This position assists the case manager in developing a comprehensive service plan with the goal of treatment retention and successful employment. The BHS will complete the Comprehensive Behavioral Health Assessment and administer specific standardized diagnostic assessment tools. This position provides specialized training to case management staff, and acts as a liaison between the mental health community and the case management programs.

Qualifications:
Required: A Masters Degree and a minimum of one year of job-related experience, with a LMHC, LMSW or LCSW license and a CASAC. Knowledge of substance abuse and mental health treatment modalities. Excellent interpersonal skills.

Preferred: Knowledge of the New York City Chemical Dependency Treatment System, and welfare-to-work initiatives preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
