World’s Largest Classified
We need some serious help around here!!
By the way…just for the record…this is not a gimmick…I REALLY AM looking for an experienced CPA/tax accountant.
Here’s the situation. I need to hire a key person to help me with the growth of my business. This person will need to be very special. Now I need to be careful here because the goal with this ad is to entice you (and you will know who you are!) to want to work here so bad that you’d CRAWL ACROSS BROKEN GLASS just to apply for the job.
So, here’s how I’m hoping to accomplish this feat. Rather than starting off by giving you some laundry list of what your duties will be, I think I’ll tell you what is like to work here. THEN we’ll see about the laundry list. Okay? Here goes.
This is a TAX and CPA office. But not some boring stuffy places like most CPA offices. When people think of CPA’s they think of bean counters preparing taxes, payroll, doing bookkeeping and lots of other stuff with ledgers and green eye shades. Well, some of that is true (I do not now, nor have I ever worn green eye shades!). We do those services. And we do them very well. But working here entails a whole lot more. Our word philosophy centers on people first. So for example, if you have a child that has a basketball game today at 3pm, you had better be there at that game…or you are in trouble. Nobody will care, 20 years for now, about the work you did at your job. But your kid will remember that you weren’t there for the game!
Next, we are a very informal office. We laugh, a LOT. We enjoy each other’s company. We have a great relationship with our clients and treat them as if they are family…because they are. We ever treat each other like family too!
My office is a GREAT place to work. WE have a modern office and up to date computers, internet, and free coffee. We want every person working here to wake up in the morning and feel good about coming to work.
So how am I doing? Hopefully, some of you are starting to get your interest piqued (or maybe you are thinking a friend to tell about this)
Now that I’ve given you a feel for what its like to work, it’s time to give you the laundry list…in a non-laundry-list fashion, of course.
This person needs to be able to prepare all levels of personal and business returns, this is an absolute must. We are a large volume office and run into all manner of tax situations. Small business, rental properties, IRS audits, IRS notices, tax planning and advice, stock sales…in other words a wide range of issues. In order to do this you need current experience and training.
Must know QuickBooks, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Experience with Lacerte Tax Software is a plus.
Must understand bookkeeping, journal entries, debits, credits and terms like amortization and depreciation.
Must understand accounting and bookkeeping and be able to figure out the errors that clients make and fix them.
Must be able to start with a pile of tax and accounting information from a client and boil it down to a financial statement and tax return ready for filing. All the while, knowing what questions to ask to get the information needed to do this.
Meet with clients and answer clients’ questions over the phone.
Assist in training other staff.
But most of all needs a great can do positive attitude!
This is just a partial list, but I think the right person will understand what I mean.
WHAT DOES IT PAY…WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
You tell me what you want. Seriously, I mean it. I know the right person expects excellent pay and benefits and I am willing to pay it. By the way, I am offering more than money; I am offering a chance to have fun working in something you really enjoy!
SO WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Okay, I sure hope I entice some people to respond. If that’s the case, you’ll need to know what to do. By the way, please feel free to pass this information on to a friend or relative you think might be interested.
FIRST: prepare a one page letter telling me why you feel you are the best candidate for the job.
SECOND: Tell us something about yourself, what makes you unique. Honestly all I want from this is a peek in to your personality. Be simple, real and direct in what you write. Imagine you are sitting in the room talking to me.
THIRD: E-mail your letter and contact information to BESTTAXJOBS@AOL.COM
Time to say goodbye for now. I just know that the right person is out there. I am convinced there is a perfect fit. My guess is if you have read this far you might be that person or may know someone that you think would be a perfect fit.
We are serious about hiring someone for this position soon. So if you think this job is for you, don’t waste any time.
